The #NextGenATP stars had a taste of the Californian desert this week when they competed at the BNP Paribas Open.
The 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF champion Joao Fonseca leads the PIF ATP Live Race To Jeddah in 2025 and extended his advantage at the top after earning victory on his Indian Wells debut.
It All Adds Up
The 18-year-old Brazilian beat Jacob Fearnley in the first round and then received words of praise from Novak Djokovic in an exchange that left Fonseca beaming from ear to ear.
The World No. 80 was unable to back up his win against Jack Draper but will head to the Miami Open presented by Itau for the second part of the ‘Sunshine Double’ in confident mood. Last month, Fonseca clinched his first ATP Tour crown in Buenos Aires.
Jakub Mensik, currently third in the PIF ATP Live Race To Jeddah, also enjoyed victory in Indian Wells. The Czech defeated Tomas Martin Etcheverry in straight sets before he ran into Karen Khachanov. The 19-year-old is 8-6 on the year and will next make his main-draw debut at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Miami, having lost in qualifying last year.

#NextGenATP Croatian Dino Prizmic has climbed 11 spots in the PIF ATP Live Race To Jeddah following his title run at the ATP Challenger Tour event on home soil in Zagreb.
The 19-year-old, who won a set against Novak Djokovic at last year’s Australian Open, is up to eighth in the Live Race To Jeddah, boosting his early hopes of qualifying for this year’s Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF.
Prizmic overcame former Jeddah finalist Luca Van Assche in the title match to clinch his second Challenger Tour title on clay and first since 2023. Prizmic will next play at the Challenger Tour event in Skopje.
