Roger Federer has risen four places to his highest Emirates ATP Ranking since 24 October 2016 (at No. 7) as a result of capturing his 25th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title at the BNP Paribas Open on Sunday. The 35-year-old Swiss now stands at World. No. 6 after a 6-4, 7-5 victory over compatriot Stan Wawrinka marked his fifth in the Californian desert and builds on his triumph at the Australian Open (d. Pablo Carreno Busta has also moved up four places to a career-high No. 19. The Spaniard breaks into the Top 20 for the first time having reached the Indian Wells semi-finals, his best run at an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event. The 25 year old saved two match points to prevail past Pablo Cuevas in the quarter-finals, before being ousted by third seed Wawrinka. Cuevas has climbed four positions to No. 26 after another strong week at Indian Wells. The Uruguayan clinched the Brasil Open title earlier this month (d. Ramos-Vinolas) and then achieved his best ATP World Tour Masters 1000 showing at Indian Wells.

Donald Young continued to build on his impressive start to 2017, as he climbed nine places to No. 51. The American secured semi-final spots at the Memphis Open and Delray Beach Open. Then at Indian Wells he toppled Abierto Mexicano Telcel champion Sam Querrey and World No. 15 Lucas Pouille en route to the fourth round.
Yoshihito Nishioka moved up 12 places to No. 58, following an Indian Wells fourth-round exit. The 21 year old was a lucky loser from qualifying and grasped his opportunity by prevailing past Ivo Karlovic and Tomas Berdych. His run was eventually halted by finalist Wawrinka in a third set tie-break.
Mikhail Kukushkin surged 14 places up to No. 76 having qualified for the BNP Paribas Open. He then progressed to the 2017 BMW of Dallas Irving Tennis Classic final (l. Bedene). Elsewhere, a quarter-final run at the 2017 Pingshan Open has helped boost Evgeny Donskoy’s ranking by 18 spots to No. 81.

Dusan Lajovic qualified for the main draw at Indian Wells and then advanced to the fourth round. As a result, the Serbian has rise up 21 places to No. 85. Aljaz Bedene returned to the Top 100 (No. 94) for the first time since 14 November 2016 courtesy of clinching the Irving Challenger title (d. Kukushkin). A run to the 2017 Pingshan Open final (l. Kavcic) has sent Yuichi Sugita up 19 spots to World No. 97. Taro Daniel won the Buenos Aires Challenger title (d. Mayer) and has been rewarded by a 19-position rise in the Emirates ATP Rankings to No. 100.
