007 Crashes Murray’s Presser
After watching countryman Andy Murray reach his second US Open final, Sir Sean Connery, widely known for portraying James Bond aka 007 on screen, interrupted Murray during his post-match press conference, bringing along Sir Alex Ferguson, football manager of Manchester United and Murray’s mother Judy to congratulate him on his performance against Tomas Berdych.
“That's the first time I've met Sir Alex and first time I met Sir Sean, as well,” said Murray. “So that's obviously nice to have their support. Hopefully they'll be back for the final, as well.”

Murray Calls Out Mum
During a conversation at Murray’s press conference between the World No. 4, mum Judy, Connery and Ferguson, Murray told his mother, “You smell of wine. (Laughter.).” The ensuing dialogue followed…
Judy Murray: “He made me have wine. He's just been telling me that Scotland invented the world.”
Sir Alex Ferguson: “Been coming here the last three years to New York, and I explained how Scotland invented the world; today we invented the wind. (Laughter.)”
Sir Sean Connery: “Today they conquered the world.”
Sir Alex Ferguson: “Very Good. Fantastic.”
Andy Murray: “See you after the match tomorrow.”
Sir Alex Ferguson: “Continue your interview.”
Super Saturday Stars
In addition to Connery and Ferguson, a plethora of celebrities showed up for Super Saturday’s semi-finals. The actors in attendance included Bob Balaban, Matt Czuchry, Jon Hamm, Josh Hartnett, Kellan Lutz, Julianna Margulies, Lizzie Olsen, Peter Sarsgaard, Jennifer Westfeldt and Jesse Williams.
Grammy winner Paul Simon, Olympic champion sailor Ben Ainsile, hockey star Brad Richards of the New York Rangers, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour and NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams were also spotted at Flushing Meadows.
Schedule Update
Due to inclement weather expected to hit New York, the semi-final between reigning champion Novak Djokovic and fourth seed David Ferrer was called off with Ferrer serving at 5-2. The match will resume on Sunday at 11 a.m. local time, while the final has been rescheduled for Monday at 10 p.m. CEST/4 p.m. EST.
