Australia's hottest acts set to rock Grand Slam Oval

Australia’s hottest acts and upcoming talent will perform on the Heineken Stage at Grand Slam® Oval during Australian Open 2012.

Presented by Nova 100, an array of musical artists including rock bands, live DJs and pop icons will descend on Grand Slam Oval to bring a party-like atmosphere each evening during the tournament.

Artists include Perth rockers Eskimo Joe, movers and shakers The Potbelleez, dance music group TV Rock and former Sherbet lead singer Daryl Braithwaite. Also performing will be Bluejuice, Josh Pyke, Lowrider, Tim Freedman & The Half Idle, Mark Seymour, Jason Singh, Busby Marou and The Vaudeville Smash. Washington and Jimmy Barnes will headline on the day of the women’s and men’s finals, providing the perfect warm-up for fans enjoying the finals action on the big screens at Grand Slam Oval.

Taking place from 6pm, concerts are open to all Australian Open spectators and are the perfect way to sit back and relax after spending a day watching the tennis at Melbourne Park.

Australian Open wildcard play-off live streamed

The Australian Open 2012 Wildcard Play-off starts tomorrow, with a knock-out tournament for the men's event and a 16 player round robin format for the women.

In the women’s draw, top seed Casey Dellacqua (Woodvale, WA) sits in the Blue Group and will play against Wimbledon junior champion Ashleigh Barty from Queensland, Emelyn Starr (Timbumburi, NSW) and Stephanie Bengson (Albion Park, NSW).

Second seed Olivia Rogowska (St Kilda, Vic) heads the Magenta Group which includes Optus 18s semifinalist Azra Hadzic (Keysborough, Vic), Belinda Woolcock (Mt Waverley, Vic) and Daniella Jeflea (Blackhurst, NSW).
The Yellow Group is led by fourth seed Sally Peers (Glen Waverley, Vic) and includes Bojana Bobusic (South Perth, WA), Optus 18s finalist Sanders and Viktorija Rajicic (Delahey, Vic). And finally, the Green Group contains third seed Isabella Holland (St Lucia, Qld), Arina Rodionova, Rachel Tredoux (Sunnybank, Qld) and Alenka Hubacek (Greenvale, Vic).

In the men’s event the top eight seeds all have first-round byes. The bottom half of the draw will see some dangerous match-ups with second seed Marinko Matosevic (Dandenong, Vic) and Sam Groth (Templestowe, Vic) set to meet in the second round. Others in that section include powerful young gun Alex Bolt (Murray Bridge, SA), John Peers (Glen Waverley, Vic) and junior Davis Cup team member Nick Kyrgios (Watson, ACT).

Other interesting first-round matches include John Patrick-Smith (Kelso, Qld) and Maverick Banes (Gold Coast, Qld), with the winner to play Chris Guccione (Greenvale, Vic) and Luke Saville to play Optus 18s surprise semifinalist Chris O’Connell (Belrose, NSW). The winner of that match will take on James Lemke.


The Australian Open 2012 wildcard play-off will be livestreamed off http://www.tennis.com.au when the action starts at Melbourne Park on 6 December at 10 am.

A w Melbourne powoli czuć klimatem AO. :D Poniżej mecz Duckwortha z Savillem. Słońce i panorama Melbourne - cudo. :P

Ja na stronie AO znalazłem tylko 3 minutowy skrót meczu z Guciem i 2 min z dzisiejszej nocy. Coraz bardziej tej chłopak mi imponuje. Musze zobaczyć jego cały mecz wreszcie...
