ATPWorldTour.com looks at the top Movers of the Week in the ATP Rankings, as of Monday, 23 April 2018
No. 22 Kei Nishikori, +14
Nishikori showed that he is well on his way to returning to the Top 10 of the ATP Rankings with his run to the final of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters (l. to Nadal). The former World No. 4 was unseeded in the Principality, but battled his way through the draw with four three-set wins in five matches en route to the final.

The Japanese right-hander beat No. 18 Tomas Berdych, Sydney International titlist Daniil Medvedev and Italian Andreas Seppi to reach the quarter-finals, where Nishikori had to raise his level and he did. The 28-year-old fought past two Top 5 opponents – Marin Cilic and Alexander Zverev – to make his fourth ATP World Tour Masters 1000 final.
No. 3 Alexander Zverev, +1
The German celebrated his 21st birthday by clinching his best finish yet in Monte-Carlo. Zverev outlasted Frenchman Richard Gasquet in three sets to make the semi-finals (l. to Nishikori) and guarantee his return to his career-high position in the ATP Rankings of No. 3.
After a slow start to the Masters 1000 season in Indian Wells (l. to Joao Sousa, R2), Zverev, a two-time Masters 1000 titlist (2017 Rome, Montreal) has returned to regular proceedings by reaching the Miami Open presented by Itau final (l. to Isner) and the semi-finals in Monte-Carlo.
No. 29 Richard Gasquet, +5
The Frenchman appeared healthy and able to produce some of his best tennis in Monte-Carlo, which is especially encouraging for Gasquet, who endured a frustrating number of stops and starts in 2017. Gasquet missed the first five Masters 1000 tournaments last year due to appendicitis surgery and a back injury.
But in Monte-Carlo, the 31-year-old right-hander dropped only three games against then-No. 15 Diego Schwartzman, before defeating German Mischa Zverev, Alexander's older brother, for his 500th victory, becoming the first Frenchman to achieve the milestone.

No. 35 Philipp Kohlschreiber, +5
The German veteran again showed his clay-court prowess in Monte-Carlo. Kohlschreiber, who has won six of his eight titles on clay, beat Houston finalist Tennys Sandgren of the U.S. and 2017 finalist Albert Ramos-Vinolas of Spain to make the third round (l. to Dimitrov).
No. 55 Andreas Seppi, +7
The Italian was a home favourite for the Monte-Carlo faithful, and he did not disappoint. The 34-year-old qualified by beating #NextGenATP Aussie Alex de Minaur and Marcel Granollers of Spain. Seppi then showed the form that helped him beat Alexander Zverev in Rotterdam earlier this year. The Italian eliminated Marrakech finalist Kyle Edmund of Great Britain and Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez before falling to Nishikori in the third round.

No. 48 Joao Sousa, +20
It had long been a dream of Joao Sousa's: become the first Portugese-born player to win an ATP World Tour title on home soil. And with the crowd's help on Sunday, Sousa achieved the milestone to win his third ATP World Tour title and first since 2015 Valencia.
He also climbed closer to his career-high ATP Ranking of No. 28, which he reached in May 2016. The right-hander jumped 20 spots to No. 48 and could come close this season to breaking the Top 30 again. Before Estoril, Sousa had reached a semi-final (Marrakech) and beaten two Top 10 players at ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournaments (No. 9 Goffin, Miami; No. 5 Zverev, Indian Wells).

No. 28 Philipp Kohlschreiber, +6
The 34-year-old German veteran climbed back into the Top 30 of the ATP Rankings by reaching the final of the BMW Open by FWU in Munich. Kohlschreiber hadn't dropped a set before falling to Alexander Zverev, who retained his Munich crown. It was Kohlschreiber's first final of the season.
No. 40 Stefanos Tsitsipas, +4
In Estoril, the #NextGenATP Greek continued his accelerated pace on the red dirt by making the semi-finals (l. to Sousa) and setting a new career-high in the ATP Rankings. It marked the second consecutive week that the 19-year-old had reached a semi-final and beaten a Top 10 player (d. No. 8 Anderson). In Barcelona, Tsitsipas swept No. 7 Dominic Thiem in the quarter-finals before falling to No. 1 Rafael Nadal in the final.
Tsitsipas currently leads the ATP Race To Milan, which will determine seven of the eight players who compete at the 21-and-under Next Gen ATP Finals, to be held 6-10 November in Milan.
No. 56 Frances Tiafoe, +8
The #NextGenATP American, like Tsitsipas, is having the breakout season of his career. Two months after winning his maiden ATP World Tour title in Delray Beach, Tiafoe made his second tour-level final in Estoril (l. to Sousa). Next for Tiafoe, who matched his career-high of No. 56: cracking the Top 50. The right-hander is currently in second place in the ATP Race To Milan.

No. 82 Taro Daniel, +32
The Japanese right-hander hadn't reached a semi-final before last week in Istanbul, but on Sunday evening, he was celebrating his maiden ATP World Tour title and a new career-high ATP Ranking after beating Malek Jaziri to win the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open.
Daniel, who won four tour-level matches in all of 2017, won five matches in a row in Istanbul, knocking out Italian Matteo Berrettini, Aljaz Bedene of Slovakia, Brazil's Rogerio Dutra Silva and French veteran Jeremy Chardy before beating Jaziri, who was also competing in his first ATP World Tour final.

ATP Rankings Movers: Federer Returns To No. 1
Spoiler:
ATPWorldTour.com looks at the top Movers of the Week in the ATP Rankings, as of Monday, 14 May 2018
No. 1 Roger Federer, +1
Roger Federer has today returned to No. 1 in the ATP Rankings for the 309th week of his career, after Rafael Nadal was beaten in last week’s Mutua Madrid Open quarter-finals. The Swiss begins his fifth stint at the summit of men’s professional tennis at the age of 36 years, nine months.
Federer first became No. 1 at the age of 22 on 2 February 2004, spending 237 consecutive weeks there until 17 August 2008. He returned to the top spot for 48 weeks from 6 July 2009 to 6 June 2010, then 17 weeks between 9 July 2012 and 4 November 2012 and most recently from 19 February this year, for six weeks.
Federer
Federer, who is scheduled to return at the MercedesCup in June, has compiled a 17-2 record on the 2018 season with trophies at the Australian Open (d. Cilic) and the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament (d. Dimitrov). He also finished runner-up to Juan Martin del Potro at the BNP Paribas Open in March.
Nadal, however, can reclaim the top spot on 21 May with a record eighth title this week at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome.
No. 7 Kevin Anderson, +1
The best start to a season for Kevin Anderson continued at the Mutua Madrid Open as the South African made his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 semi-final. The 31-year-old had been 0-10 in Masters 1000 quarter-finals but outplayed Serbian Dusan Lajovic to reach the final four in Madrid.
Anderson's reward is another career-high in the ATP Rankings. Before 2018, the South African had spent only one week in the Top 10 (12-18 October 2015). But already this year, Anderson has spent 11 weeks (since 19 February) among the game's elite.
No. 15 Diego Schwartzman, +1
Diego Schwartzman matched his career-high ATP Ranking by making the third round in Madrid (l. to Nadal). The 13th-seeded Argentine beat France's Adrian Mannarino in straight sets before ending Feliciano Lopez's Madrid playing career. Lopez will be the Madrid Tournament Director next year.
No. 19 Kyle Edmund, +3
Brit Kyle Edmund celebrated one of the best wins of his career in Madrid, outplaying former No. 1 Novak Djokovic to beat the Serbian, who's on the comeback from right elbow surgery, in the second round.
Edmund
The 23-year-old Edmund then backed up the big win by dismissing No. 10 David Goffin in straight sets to reach his first Masters 1000 quarter-final (l. to Shapovalov). Edmund is making his debut inside the Top 20 of the ATP Rankings.
No. 29 Denis Shapovalov, +14
The 19-year-old had not won an ATP World Tour match on clay before Madrid, but he more than showed he can compete on the European red clay. Shapovalov won four matches in the Spanish capital, including a 6-4, 6-4 victory against top countryman Milos Raonic, en route to the semi-finals (l. to Zverev).
Shapovalov, still only a teenager, has now reached two Masters 1000 semi-finals (2017 Montreal, l. to Zverev). The left-hander, who qualified for the inaugural Next Gen ATP Finals last year, is currently in second place in the ATP Race To Milan, behind Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Zvereva wykluczać nie można, on w końcu i w Szlemach zacznie mocno punktować, a w przeciwieństwie do takiego Federera on punktuje w każdym turnieju rangi Masters, a Federer to w 4-5.
Nadal jest chyba jednak teraz faworytem, zobaczymy co pokaże w Rzymie, jeśli go wygra i wygra RG to zyska bardzo bardzo dużo

Niech on najpierw przejdzie czwartą rundę szlema i potem się zaczniecie zastanawiać.
