In his 19th Wimbledon appearance, Roger Federer is bidding for his 19th major title. The 35-year-old Swiss will take on Marin Cilic. The Croatian has reached at least the quarterfinals in each of the last four Wimbledons and has a 27-9 lifetime record at the Championships. (Federer’s all-time record at Wimbledon is 90-11).

Federer owns 16 grass-court titles to just one for Cilic. The seven-time Wimbledon Champion owns a 163-24 record on grass, while Cilic own s a 60-25 record on grass.

Federer owns a 6-1 lifetime edge over Cilic, including a comeback from two sets to love down in last year’s Wimbledon quarterfinals. Federer owns a 2-1 lifetime edge against Cilic at the majors. The 28-year-old defeated Federer in straight sets at the 2014 U.S. Open semifinal en route to his first major title.

Cilic is bidding to become the first player from Croatia to earn multiple major titles. Goran Ivanisevic (2001) Wimbledon and Iva Majoli (1997 Roland Garros) are the two other Croatians that have won major titles.

Federer has struck 64 aces and won 95 percent of his service games (79/83). The Swiss has saved 80 percent of the break points he has faced (16/20) while Cilic has saved just 58 percent of break points faced (14/24).

Federer is bidding to become just the third player in Open Era history to win multiple major titles without dropping a set, and the second to do so at Wimbledon. Bjorn Bork won three majors without dropping a set, including Wimbledon in 1976, while Rafael Nadal has won Roland Garros three times (2008, 2010, 2017) without dropping a set.

Three players—Federer (2007 Australian Open), Nastase (1973 Roland Garros) and Rosewall (1971 Australian Open) have won one major without dropping a set.
