In final tournament, Ferrer opens against fellow Spaniard Bautista Agut
Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer headline an action-packed Day 3 at the Mutua Madrid Open. Six ATP Masters 1000 champions will take the court at La Caja Mágica, including Dominic Thiem, Stan Wawrinka and Fabio Fognini.
Federer, seeded fourth, plays his first clay-court match in three years against Frenchman Richard Gasquet. The Swiss star has dominated their FedEx ATP Head2Head rivalry 17-2 and has won the past 20 sets they’ve played. However, both of Gasquet’s wins over Federer have come during the European clay swing.
