Murray dominates British headlines
Not surprisingly, Andy Murray’s late decision to withdraw on the eve of The Championships dominates the British media coverage.

The Times leads with the news of Murray’s pull-out due to his hip injury and the former champion explained: "It has been hard because I really wanted to play."

The Daily Mail expresses concern over the impact the hip injury is having on Murray’s career.

"This has become, sadly, something of a habit in the wake of the degenerative hip condition that first became evident a year ago. There cannot be much certainty about what will come next.

"There was a hint of euphoria in Murray's voice in January in the aftermath of what he felt was a successful operation. The journey since has been hard and the destination is still unknown."

Supermom Serena Williams has talked at length about playing in front of her toddler daughter and The Daily Telegraph catches her mood, writing: "She admitted it would be emotional to appear in front of her husband and daughter for the first time. Earlier this week she took her daughter on to the turf at Wimbledon."

Williams has expressed her feelings on the number of drug tests she has been forced to have in recent weeks and that is given prominence in The Telegraph too, with an interesting viewpoint from Roger Federer.

"In the village I live in, in Switzerland, the tester lives in the same village, so it's very convenient. If he's bored at home, he probably just says, 'Let me check in on Roger to see if he's having a good time'. Anyway, it's only going to take 10 minutes."
