In other action, fifth seed Miomir Kecmanovic snapped a three-match losing streak when he defeated Spanish lucky loser Oriol Roca Batalla 6-1, 6-3. The Serbian won 83 per cent (20/24) of his first-serve points and did not face a break point to triumph after 74 minutes.

Kecmanovic will next meet Briton Jack Draper. Kecmanovic is chasing his first title of the season this week, having advanced to finals in Delray Beach and Estoril earlier this year.

The World No. 41 next faces a maiden Lexus ATP Head2Head clash against Aleksandar Vukic, who also held his tie-break nerve to overcome Brandon Nakashima 6-7(5), 7-6(3), 7-6(5).

Eighth seed Miomir Kecmanovic also rode out some tough moments to book his quarter-final spot on Wednesday. The Serbian saved a set point in the first-set tie-break and reeled off four games in a row from 2-4 in the second set for a 7-6(6), 6-4 win against qualifier Aleksandar Vukic. The World No. 41 Kecmanovic will take on Gregoire Barrere next, after the Frenchman upset fifth seed Nicolas Jarry 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Kecmanovic Survives Scare In Gstaad

Miomir Kecmanovic rallied back from the brink on Friday to reach the semi-finals at the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad, where he overcame Belgian qualifier Zizou Bergs 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.

The second-seeded Serbian trailed Bergs 1-4 and 3-5 in the third set, but showed his grit and quality during the latter stages of the third set to turn the match around and seal victory on his fourth match point after two hours and 16 minutes.

“It did not really looked good at 1-4 down and 3-5, but I kept believing and thought I would be able to turn it around and luckily I managed to do that today,” Kecmanovic said in his on-court interview.

Kecmanovic, who is the highest seed left in the draw after top seed Roberto Bautista Agut lost on Thursday, is into his fourth tour-level semi-final of the season. The 23-year-old is chasing his second tour-level title and first of the year and will next meet Juan Pablo Varillas or Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
