The Australian returned to the Top 30 in the ATP Rankings for the first time since 1 October 2018 as a result of capturing his third ATP Tour 500-level trophy on Sunday with a 7-6(6), 7-6(4) victory over World No. 10 Daniil Medvedev in the Citi Open final. The 24-year-old also beat No. 6-ranked Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(7) in the semi-finals. Kyrgios won the Abierto Mexicano Telcel presentado por HSBC title in Acapulco in March (d. The Spaniard saw his nine-match winning streak end at the hands of No. 4-ranked Dominic Thiem in the Generali Open final, but the 31-year-old rose 17 places to No. 52 in the ATP Rankings (his highest position since No. 50 on 8 August 2018). He had arrived in Kitzbühel on the back of lifting his second ATP Tour crown at the J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open Gstaad (d. Stebe). On 10 June, Ramos-Vinolas was ranked No. 101. The Italian rose to a career-high No. 79 in the ATP Rankings by winning his fourth ATP Challenger Tour title at the BNP Paribas Sopot Open (d. Horansky). The 27-year-old, who fell as low as No. 155 on 8 April 2019, fell to Nikoloz Basilashvili in five sets in the Australian Open second round in January.

No. 85 Peter Gojowczyk, +37
Starting the week at No. 122, the German qualified for the Citi Open and held his nerve to beat Alex de Minaur, Milos Raonic and Kyle Edmund before losing to No. 10-ranked Medvedev 6-2, 6-2 in the semi-finals. Gojowcyzk is back at his highest position in the ATP Rankings since 22 April 2019 (at No. 85).

The 23-year-old rises to a new career-high of No. 8 the ATP Rankings after reaching his first ATP Masters 1000 final at the Coupes Rogers (l. to Nadal) and becomes the new Russian No. 1 – moving past Karen Khachanov, who has dropped one spot to No. 9. Now 5-5 against Top 10 opponents in 2019, the Russian beat Dominic Thiem and Khachanov in Montreal. Over the past two weeks, Medvedev has won eight of 10 matches, including a runner-up finish on 4 August at the Citi Open (l. to Kyrgios). He first broke into the Top 10 on 15 July. The Spaniard, who reached his first Grand Slam championship semi-final at The Championships, Wimbledon (l. to Djokovic) last month, is also up to a career-high No. 11 after he advanced to the fourth ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final (l. to Monfils) of his career. Bautista Agut was at No. 25 on 18 March this year.

Former World No. 6 Gael Monfils reached his first Masters 1000 semi-final for four years (2016 Toronto) to return to No. 15 in the ATP Rankings for the first time since 1 July. Nikt nie pogonił, ale i tak 19-ty będzie Feliks.
Wiadomo już, że na Us Open Fabsterzy będą w ćwiartce mogli mieć Zvereva, Nishikoriego, Medvedeva albo Tsitsipasa. O ile się nikt z czołówki nie wycofa.

Competing in his third final in as many weeks, the 23-year-old claimed his first ATP Masters 1000 title at the Western & Southern Open. The Spaniard advanced to his third Masters 1000 quarter-final of the year in Cincinnati. Bautista Agut defeated Hubert Hurkacz and Next Gen ATP Finals contenders Frances Tiafoe and Miomir Kecmanovic to reach the last eight in Ohio, before falling to Richard Gasquet in three sets. Bautista Agut becomes the 19th Spaniard to reach the Top 10 in ATP Rankings history (since 1973).

Gasquet reached his first Masters 1000 semi-final in more than six years in Cincinnati. The Frenchman, whose last final-four appearance at the level came at the 2013 Miami Open presented by Itau, beat Andy Murray, Federico Delbonis, Diego Schwartzman and Bautista Agut to claim his place in the semi-finals, where he fell to Goffin in straight sets. Gasquet soars 22 places to No. 34 in the ATP Rankings.

Zgadzam się, dodam tylko, że chciałbym aby to tłuczenie Fabsterów było związane z wejściem na wyższy level w/w tenisistów, a nie zjazdem raków. Zresztą oni wystarczająco już zjechali i i tak nic z tego nie wynika...

Tak patrząc na ranking i w sumie niewiadomą forme Djoka, to ta jego jedynka na koniec sezonu wcale taka pewna nie jest. Wszystko będzie zależeć jak tam Rafa po USO będzie planował starty. Wiadomo, że po ostatnim szlemie wszystkie pozostałe turnieje te najważniejsze będą grane na warunkach Djoka ( hard, hala), ale może Rafciu powalczy o lidera. Na Feda nie ma co liczyć, musiałby po prostu wygrać w Nowym Jorku, żeby coś znaczyć, a i tak potem wyniki w pozostałych turniejach musiałby robić też konkretne. Jakby to inaczej wyglądało po Wimbledonie. Odjąć Novakowi 800 za wygraną i dodać te punkty Fedowi za wygranie, i już ranking by się naprawdę wyrównał.

Federer straci rekord WS i tygodni na pozycji lidera mając kilka meczowych na klepnięcie zarówno jednego jak i drugiego rekordu. W zeszłym roku w finale Indian Wells gdyby wykorzystał mp to miałby plus extra kilkanaście tygodni. W tym roku zwyciężając Wimbla nie dość, że uciekł by w WS to gdyby jemu nawet na pozycję lidera wskoczyć się nie udało to znacznie by wzrosły w tym aspekcie szanse Nadala, który ze swoimi 196 tygodniami nie jest dla Szwajcara realnym zagrożeniem. To będzie naprawdę niesamowite jeśli Szwajcar ze swą indolencją wykorzystywania okazji uchowa się z tymi rekordami.

Nie wiedziaem, że aż tak nisko upadł Shapovalov, że nawet nie jest rozstawiony w Wielkim Szlemie. No cóż, oby trafił na kogoś z czołówki na początku, przynajmniej będzie na co popatrzeć.
