The second seed was strong on serve throughout the 69-minute clash. He won 80 per cent (24/30) of points on his first-serve delivery and saved both break points he faced to reach his fifth tour-level semi-final of the season.
Rublev reached the semi-finals on debut in Bastad last year and will be aiming to make it one step further when he meets fourth seed Francisco Cerundolo in the last four. The defending champion Cerundolo defeated Federico Coria 6-3, 6-3.
Earlier this year, the 25-year-old Rublev captured the biggest title of his career on clay when he lifted his maiden ATP Masters 1000 crown in Monte-Carlo. He is now 16-4 on the surface in 2023.

Zgadza się, ale większość czołowych graczy też startuje w wielu kurnikach, a mało kto ma już 22 finały na koncie (13-8).

Tak może być. W pewnym momencie wydawało się, że dopadną go kontuzje, ale od kilku lat trzyma się całkiem dobrze i sporo gra.

Tak, po tym urazie nadgarstka bodajże z początku 2018/2019 wyglądało to na bardzo kruchą karierę i wiele długich przerw. Daje radę póki co.

In a thrilling clash, both players opened their shoulders to exchange brutal blows on the Bastad clay, with Rublev breaking Cerundolo’s serve twice in the third set to improve to 37-14 on the season.
The second seed, who lifted his maiden ATP Masters 1000 crown in Monte-Carlo earlier this season, is aiming to win his 14th tour-level title. Rublev has captured four of his trophies on clay.
